Lexie & Isaiah

This was another one of my starting out sessions.

My first maternity session. Lexie and Isaiah got to be my guinea pigs.

Unbeknownst to my beautiful clients, and actually to most people in general at the time… I had recently suffered a pregnancy loss. So standing on the beach that day, shooting their happy, healthy pregnancy was actually extremely difficult. Especially since their baby was due only a month before mine would have arrived.

We got through it. I got through it. They helped me to get through it, and I wouldn’t change anything about that day or ever decide to go back and not take their session on because I needed to see their happiness and excitement so I could have the strength to get through my grief and try again, because unbeknownst to me (at the time)… they had also suffered a pregnancy loss, and this baby was their rainbow.

Despite how new I was, this is still one of my favorite maternity sessions.

BTW: Their rainbow baby came out perfect and she’s adorable. She just turned 1 year old right after my rainbow baby was born.
