Andrian & Ivan Reyes

I’m not a stranger to new experiences. Sometimes I love them, sometimes I hate them, sometimes they’re planned and sometimes they’re not.

This particular new experience was not something I ever would’ve planned, but most definitely changed my entire life and these are some of my favorite pictures and clients now because of it.

So… Andrian and Ivan Reyes showed up 30 minutes late to their 30 minute sunset session… lol!

The sun was just about to set. They rolled in, she a solid 39 weeks pregnant - absolutely stunning, might I add, he just along for the ride - also looking pretty sharp. The apologies ensue, we chat about it, I’m still right at the start of my photography career so we decide to take the photos. THE SUN WENT DOWN.

We started.

This is the moment I fell in love with blue hour.

I honestly don’t know what my life would be without blue hour photography. It is my absolute favorite time of day to photograph anything. The sky typically turns the most gorgeous cotton candy colors and all is just right with the world. Everything gets cosier, and don’t even get me started on how excited I was when the streetlights on the pier turned on. They were absolute perfection. If I could have bottled how cute they were, how excited they were for their baby to arrive (which she held off on until 42 weeks - cheeky girl) and how in love they were with each other I totally would and I would be rich from selling it.

Was I excited about them showing up late? No! Most definitely not. Did I basically eat my reservations about any and all random little accidents that might happen at sessions from then on? You bet I did!
